The River Boyne (Irish: Abhainn na Boinne) is a river in the province of Leinster. The course of which is about 112 km (70 miles) long. In spite of its length the river has a big historical, archeological and mystical meaning. The river flows through Trim, The Hill of Tara, which was the residence of the Kings of Ireland and the medieval city of Drogheda. It was also the scene of the Battle of the Boyne in 1698.
